The whole week is so packed with activity that we hardly get any time to disconnect from reality - hence the weekend! Those measly 48 hours sometimes 24 hours is all we got and disconnecting from the usual stuff helps to enjoy it better when we get back to it. This is the time to keep away from those cellphones and laptops and anything that is work or task related, as far as possible if it is adding to the stress. Doing something different over the weekend only preps you better for the week ahead and you feel more connected to all things that define work for you.

2. Reconnect

Completely opposite right... This is the time you must take time to reconnect with things that you usually do not have the time for during the week. It could be connecting with your family and friends by having a get together - nothing is more relaxing than having a chill time with the people you love. It could be reconnecting with nature by going for a long walks, which does not just help your body but also your mind or just by having a seat in a garden or the woods with a book or a cup of chai. Most of all the best way to de-stress by reconnecting is to reconnect with your inner self by some way of meditation or quiet time with your self. This helps in slowing down a fast paced life and also gives you a better perspective of what you expect from yourself.

3. Fun Element

Take time over the weekends introduce that fun element back to your life. Life need not be all serious and task oriented - pop in that DVD of may be a random episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S and laugh out, call that buddy who can just make you laugh till your stomach hurts, leave your mobile aside and bring out that board game and challenge your spouse, organize a low budget theme party at home, go bowling, go dancing - whatever it takes. This helps you to see the other side of life and feel good and stress free.

4. Let Go

It is important to remind yourself at the end of each week that life is not permanent. There are some things that annoy you, piss you, offend you, hurt you, threaten you and so on - it need not have a piece of your weekend. There could be some instances that happened over the week that is putting you down and adding stress to your life - may be there is no solution at hand - but gradually things usually solve and you feel better - in the mean time you can try and let go by training your mind to think something better and hopeful. Don't stop living altogether because of it - Do Not Stop Living.

5. Get Started

If there is something you are truly passionate about - weekend is the time you can definitely spare some time to start engaging in activities related to it - it could be anything from cooking to flying a plane. Get started! Life is not forever - giving it a sense of direction, regularly, helps in making life beautiful and stress free - you then do not just live in and live out but also look forward to live.

M.A.C Lipstick Review - M.A.C Matte Lipstick - Shade Diva

My M.A.C Lipstick in Diva When it comes to M.A.C lipsticks I can go on and on, a true lipstick lover will know that M.A.C lipstick is the queen of lipsticks because of its wide range of formulas and shades. Whenever I buy an high-end lipstick, for me the shade matters the most, I do not like buying bold shade for fear I won't use it much and it won't justify the price. I wanted a red tone matte lipstick from M.A.C but at the same time I did not want a bold red or orange red tone lipstick as it would not flatter my skin tone. I almost left the counter thinking red is out of question, matte red is totally out of question and then I happen to swatch M.A.C Diva - I always looked at M.A.C Diva as more of an autumn-wintery shade and that it would look more festive and wine shadey kinda color. My First Impression: My mind: "Oh my my, it can be red, ok get your view right - its more blue-based red on you, not redddd...marooooon, maroon is a nice shade!"  My...

Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum Review

I have always liked a good Lotus product every now and then. Sometime during the start of winters I decided to include serums in my skincare routine, now a dry skin baby like me needs to think a couple of times before adding something new to my skincare routine so as to not further dry my skin and that too in winters. I started using the  Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum from December last year and I was using it on alternate days and night, as I do not believe using something new regularly just to see how my skin is reacting in the first few days. I picked this product from the Nykaa winter sale and managed to get a good discount as well. The MRP is INR 545 for 30ml and usually you do end up getting discount of 20-25% on Nykaa. Though, it is not a super pricey product, discounts always help while purchasing a "never tried before" product. I was waiting to use it for a month or so, before I could share my two cents on it. Now abou...

VLCC Pista Massage Cream Review

For good number of years, I have been using the facial kits by VLCC, it is a good last minute self-facial treat and does the job of putting up a sublime glow to your face without spending an hour or two at the salon. I thought to give this product   a try , as I was looking for a massage cream, which I can include in my weekend pamper sessions. I did not want a high-end brand or an expensive product because sometimes I just like a simple scrub, face wash, face pack combination of pamper sesh' for my face and thats it! About the packaging and price It is a 50g massage cream which retails for Rs. 260/-. It is not a new product by VLCC and has been in the market for a while. It comes in a plastic jar and is well sealed. In terms of packaging it is nothing fancy and it has a plastic covering with all the details of the ingredients, price, expiry date and method of usage.  About the product and usage The cream is green in color and has a slightl...
