Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum Review

I have always liked a good Lotus product every now and then. Sometime during the start of winters I decided to include serums in my skincare routine, now a dry skin baby like me needs to think a couple of times before adding something new to my skincare routine so as to not further dry my skin and that too in winters.

I started using the Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum from December last year and I was using it on alternate days and night, as I do not believe using something new regularly just to see how my skin is reacting in the first few days.

I picked this product from the Nykaa winter sale and managed to get a good discount as well. The MRP is INR 545 for 30ml and usually you do end up getting discount of 20-25% on Nykaa. Though, it is not a super pricey product, discounts always help while purchasing a "never tried before" product. I was waiting to use it for a month or so, before I could share my two cents on it.

Now about the product

The serum helps in protecting your skin from exposure to sun and helps in recovering the natural fairness. It includes active agents Amla Berry, Lychee and Punarnava roots and basically is a skin lightening product. It is a glass bottle and contains 30ml of product. The lid needs to be pushed 2-3 times before you open the bottle to squeeze out product through the nozzle. You can pump the product directly to your hand or face because of the hygienic packaging. It is quite small and travel friendly and can be easily carried in your makeup bag.

My take on the product

I did not have much expectations out of serum as a step in my skincare regime. I included it for a specific purpose and I think it did the job of making my lifeless skin glowy and active in about a weeks' time. My first impression was both 50-50, I was happy with the small and sturdy packaging; however, the pump was bit of a nuisance to handle as it is difficult to gauge, how much product you want to pump and the product absorption in the pump is not consistent. The serum feels cool and hydrating on the skin on first application, after a couple of seconds, it feels a bit sticky (may be something to do with the formulation) and then in a few seconds the skin feels refreshed and glowy. The reason I included it in my skincare during the winter as my skin tends to get dull and lifeless around that time of the year and a little brightening activity was all I wanted.

My Recommendation

I can easily say, it is not a must have product in your skincare routine. Serums are definitely making their way into a most loved step and there are plenty of options in the market. Surely, this is one of the most economically priced serum for the amount of product you get. I would say, that if you just want to play around on including a serum or  for simply trying out the brand, you can experiment with Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum and may be use it once a while to bring that glow. If you, think, you need a serum as a very important step in your skincare game, I believe, it would be better to know your skincare needs and check if this product has the formulation for your skin before you make the purchase.

Makeup Revolution - Death By Chocolate

Today I will be reviewing on the Makeup Revolution - Death By Chocolate palette. This palette is well known for it being a dupe for the Too Faced - Chocolate Bar palette; however, in a much inexpensive option. There have been many arguments of it being a dupe or it not being a dupe, while weighing the pros n cons of each of the product. If you ask me, which is the better one? I do not know the answer, because I am yet to take the plunge on the pricier one. Anyway, I am in complete awe of this product, be it the packaging, the pigmentation, the color shade, the variety of matte and shimmers and mostly importantly the way it smells - So So So Wonderful!  Shade Names: Left to right Top Row: White Light, Don't Let Go, Break Me Up, Consume Me, All is Lost Middle Row: Lick Me, Fool's Gold, One More Bar, Devour Me, Tear The Wrapper, Love You to Death Bottom Row: Pray for Me, Dipped, Tease Me, Set Me Free, Bring Down Angels Above, is my palette - y...
