How I Dealt With My Lip Allergy...

Quite recently, I developed a non-understandable allergy on my upper lip area and I was all confused what it was and how did it arrive at my door step!

It was almost like a rash cum spot cum faded skin-thingy that appeared on my lip one day.

I tried all the googling and tried all the home-remedies. Stopped looking at my MAC lipsticks for once, kept all make up aside for a week - only to realize it is something that I have stored on my head - yes beautiful snowy almost innocent dandruff (lovingly, (with despair), called - Ms. Dandy!)

I realized it was time to visit the dermatologist for my lip condition. And what she says - Yep! Ms. Dandy has invited a friend in your lip area... It was not all dandruff that resulted in that lip rash but also my undying habit of smacking my lips, worsened the situation.

Now Ms. Dandy lived with me always, My mum described how I was born with a flakey head. With time, it all reduced but off-late because of some change in probably weather, probably travel, probably pollution, probably lifestyle etc. it got triggered once again and decided to slither down to my lips.

Well to how I dealt with it...

My entire facial skin was scanned and I was told something triggered, with long standing dandruff and smacking of my lips, so I was given some antibiotics to deal with my internal system if it is triggering the allergy, which I had to take for once a week for four weeks and then I was told to use the following products in addition, which worked beautifully.

L-R Bioderma Node DS+ Shampoo, Diprovate Lotion, Noreva Senidiane Micellar water, Uriage Bariderm Levres lip balm, Nadoxin C cream - for face, Tenovate M cream for lips)

*Bioderma Node DS+ shampoo - for dandruff - every wash primarily for scalp (can read here)
*Diprovate Hair Lotion - prior to shampooing - for dandruff - 15 mins prior to every wash for 20 days
*Uriage Bariederm Levres lip balm - every time before use of any lip product (can read here)
*Sensidiene Micellar Water - twice a day before application of below products
*Medicinal lip cream - Tenovate M
*Medicinal face cream - Nadoxin C

Well, it took about 4 full days for these products and medication to work and solve my allergy. I still stay away from any matte lip product, just in case, as I don't want to disturb the treatment.

Since most are for solving some particular allergy, few products from these can be used for other times as well like the Sensidiene Micellar Water, Bioderma Node DS+ shampoo (incase if you have mild to worse dandruff problem) and I totally recommend the Uriage Bariederm Levres lip balm for regular usage.

Disclaimer:
Avoid using any of the medication mentioned in this blog unless and until it has been prescribed to you by a medical professional, almost all skin issues are different and what worked for me may not work for you and vice-versa. Recommendations are based on my personal usage of the product.

M.A.C Lipstick Review - M.A.C Matte Lipstick - Shade Diva

My M.A.C Lipstick in Diva When it comes to M.A.C lipsticks I can go on and on, a true lipstick lover will know that M.A.C lipstick is the queen of lipsticks because of its wide range of formulas and shades. Whenever I buy an high-end lipstick, for me the shade matters the most, I do not like buying bold shade for fear I won't use it much and it won't justify the price. I wanted a red tone matte lipstick from M.A.C but at the same time I did not want a bold red or orange red tone lipstick as it would not flatter my skin tone. I almost left the counter thinking red is out of question, matte red is totally out of question and then I happen to swatch M.A.C Diva - I always looked at M.A.C Diva as more of an autumn-wintery shade and that it would look more festive and wine shadey kinda color. My First Impression: My mind: "Oh my my, it can be red, ok get your view right - its more blue-based red on you, not redddd...marooooon, maroon is a nice shade!"  My...

Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum Review

I have always liked a good Lotus product every now and then. Sometime during the start of winters I decided to include serums in my skincare routine, now a dry skin baby like me needs to think a couple of times before adding something new to my skincare routine so as to not further dry my skin and that too in winters. I started using the  Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum from December last year and I was using it on alternate days and night, as I do not believe using something new regularly just to see how my skin is reacting in the first few days. I picked this product from the Nykaa winter sale and managed to get a good discount as well. The MRP is INR 545 for 30ml and usually you do end up getting discount of 20-25% on Nykaa. Though, it is not a super pricey product, discounts always help while purchasing a "never tried before" product. I was waiting to use it for a month or so, before I could share my two cents on it. Now abou...

VLCC Pista Massage Cream Review

For good number of years, I have been using the facial kits by VLCC, it is a good last minute self-facial treat and does the job of putting up a sublime glow to your face without spending an hour or two at the salon. I thought to give this product   a try , as I was looking for a massage cream, which I can include in my weekend pamper sessions. I did not want a high-end brand or an expensive product because sometimes I just like a simple scrub, face wash, face pack combination of pamper sesh' for my face and thats it! About the packaging and price It is a 50g massage cream which retails for Rs. 260/-. It is not a new product by VLCC and has been in the market for a while. It comes in a plastic jar and is well sealed. In terms of packaging it is nothing fancy and it has a plastic covering with all the details of the ingredients, price, expiry date and method of usage.  About the product and usage The cream is green in color and has a slightl...
