Minicoy Island - An Excursion!

During the summer months, beaches are one place that attracts most visitors and if it is an Island like Minicoy, nothing like it!

Here are some pictures from my last trip to Lakshadweep Islands - Minicoy Island in March 2016.

By the beach - Minicoy Island

We visited three islands on this beautiful trip which were Kavaratti, Kalpeni and Minicoy and Minicoy Island was one of the most scenic islands. It has these beautiful pristine beaches, covered widely with white sand and beautiful corals. The island is a perfect tourist destination satisfying your desire to experience these gorgeous beaches, water sports and enriching culture.

About Minicoy Island

There are total of 36 islands in Lakshadweep and Minicoy is their second largest island. Among the three islands, I found that Minicoy Island was breath-takingly beautiful. The turquoise waters hitting the whites sandy shores was a glimpse of heaven. This is one place to see coral bed spread extensively. Apart from the beaches you can also go see some museums which have beautiful sea items, large variety of fishes and small aquariums. There is also a light-house called the Minicoy Island Light House - it is almost a 10-storey structure and standing at the highest point gives you a perfect glimpse of the beautiful beaches the island is surrounded with.

Water sports:

We opted for the Samudram Cruise Package - which is a 5-day cruise trip including water activities like snorkeling, kayaking, glass-boat ride and scuba diving. The water sports equipments provided were world-class to enjoy those beaches in totality. Glass-boat ride was an enriching experience to view those beautiful coral beds, especially for people like me who are not comfortable with scuba-diving, I know, I know, My BAD!!! :(

Food:

The food preferences of people differ, so I won't say it was very good or very bad, yes it was different in a good way. Most of the food was fish based - Tuna fish to be precise. The lunch which was on the island was a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. It was a typical Indian set menu - with boiled rice, chapatis, dal (lentil broth), 2 types of vegetable dishes, 2 types of chicken/fish items, papad (poppadoms), a sweet dish. There is a small shop specially catered for tourists where you can buy food items like biscuits, chocolate, fizzy-drinks, their specialties like tuna pickle, dessicated coconut, dry-fish and so on. Also, they serve coconut water in abundance, it was a welcome drink on all islands.

Overall experience:

I loved the place, I had my reservations about visiting Lakshadweep, because not many talk about how beautiful it is. This island in particular was very classy and well maintained. The people handling the tourists were also very professional. Water sport activities were very well managed and people were actually having a good time at the sea. They are trained professionals who guide you and ensure that you are in safe hands at all times under and around the sea.

Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum Review

I have always liked a good Lotus product every now and then. Sometime during the start of winters I decided to include serums in my skincare routine, now a dry skin baby like me needs to think a couple of times before adding something new to my skincare routine so as to not further dry my skin and that too in winters. I started using the  Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum from December last year and I was using it on alternate days and night, as I do not believe using something new regularly just to see how my skin is reacting in the first few days. I picked this product from the Nykaa winter sale and managed to get a good discount as well. The MRP is INR 545 for 30ml and usually you do end up getting discount of 20-25% on Nykaa. Though, it is not a super pricey product, discounts always help while purchasing a "never tried before" product. I was waiting to use it for a month or so, before I could share my two cents on it. Now abou...

VLCC Pista Massage Cream Review

For good number of years, I have been using the facial kits by VLCC, it is a good last minute self-facial treat and does the job of putting up a sublime glow to your face without spending an hour or two at the salon. I thought to give this product   a try , as I was looking for a massage cream, which I can include in my weekend pamper sessions. I did not want a high-end brand or an expensive product because sometimes I just like a simple scrub, face wash, face pack combination of pamper sesh' for my face and thats it! About the packaging and price It is a 50g massage cream which retails for Rs. 260/-. It is not a new product by VLCC and has been in the market for a while. It comes in a plastic jar and is well sealed. In terms of packaging it is nothing fancy and it has a plastic covering with all the details of the ingredients, price, expiry date and method of usage.  About the product and usage The cream is green in color and has a slightl...

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color - Shade Cali Rose

I won't consider myself as a total lipstick junkie, but, yeah l ipsticks are my thing, no doubt, and no matter how I have this "love at first sight" obsession with new lip products, I always kinda make the lipstick and my relationship almost "playing hard to get" till I really I start using it. For this baby - I gave up, I GAVE UP! I AM USING IT NON-STOP, ever since I bought it. There are total 20 shades to choose from and the colors ranges from pink-peach, coral nude tones, to rosy pinks, to some really hot reds and then to those more vampy typa shades in burgundy and maroon. Which means, there is at least one for everyone in the bucket. Each of these beauties will cost your pocket INR 1700 for 3.4g of product, which in my opinion, is pretty decent for a high-end brand of lipstick.  The packaging itself is this classy Bobbi Brown black matte case with the center  portion of the case depicting the color of the product. This really helps whe...
