Makeup Revolution - Death By Chocolate

Today I will be reviewing on the Makeup Revolution - Death By Chocolate palette. This palette is well known for it being a dupe for the Too Faced - Chocolate Bar palette; however, in a much inexpensive option.

There have been many arguments of it being a dupe or it not being a dupe, while weighing the pros n cons of each of the product. If you ask me, which is the better one? I do not know the answer, because I am yet to take the plunge on the pricier one.

Anyway, I am in complete awe of this product, be it the packaging, the pigmentation, the color shade, the variety of matte and shimmers and mostly importantly the way it smells - So So So Wonderful!

Shade Names: Left to right
Top Row: White Light, Don't Let Go, Break Me Up, Consume Me, All is Lost
Middle Row: Lick Me, Fool's Gold, One More Bar, Devour Me, Tear The Wrapper, Love You to Death
Bottom Row: Pray for Me, Dipped, Tease Me, Set Me Free, Bring Down Angels

Above, is my palette - yeah some shades are a little disfigured, because IT FELL! I know, I know, something so gorgeous couldn't fight against gravity... but such is life for our makeup products! :)

Ok. Now back to how beautiful the overall palette is...

Death By Chocolate palette has a variety of shades that you can comfortably use for daily wear because of shades like Lick Me, One More Bar, Break Me Up, Consume Me, Pray For Me as well create a quite dramatic look with shades like Love You to Death, All is Lost, Tease Me, Devour Me, Don't Let Go. It has two beautiful highlighter shade on the extreme top left of the palette (which is in a matte finish) and extreme bottom right of the palette (which is in a shimmery finish). I personally prefer and use the bottom right shade for the area under my brows because of its shine. The palette is mostly dominated with neutral shades but the pop of a purple-y shade brings the zing back to palette making it appropriate for a lot of party/evening eye-looks.

Some of my favorite shades are: top to bottom

- Tear the wrapper, Bring down angels, Fool's gold, One more bar, Love you to death.

Pros:

- Beautiful packaging
- Shades are pretty pigmented
- Versatile palette
- Inexpensive

Cons:

- Some shades a less pigmented
- More shimmers
- Just one fun color - the purple-y one

My Overall Take on the Product:

I completely enjoy using this palette, there are total 16 shades in the palette, including two highlighter shades. It is quite a versatile palette for both day and night time eye-looks. Shades are pretty pigmented  and does not crease on me without the use of any primer, which is a YAY! from me :). Absolutely recommend this palette for anyone who wants to try out a Makeup Revolution product, it is quite a first impression hit among people who use this brand.

Overall a YAY!!

M.A.C Lipstick Review - M.A.C Matte Lipstick - Shade Diva

My M.A.C Lipstick in Diva When it comes to M.A.C lipsticks I can go on and on, a true lipstick lover will know that M.A.C lipstick is the queen of lipsticks because of its wide range of formulas and shades. Whenever I buy an high-end lipstick, for me the shade matters the most, I do not like buying bold shade for fear I won't use it much and it won't justify the price. I wanted a red tone matte lipstick from M.A.C but at the same time I did not want a bold red or orange red tone lipstick as it would not flatter my skin tone. I almost left the counter thinking red is out of question, matte red is totally out of question and then I happen to swatch M.A.C Diva - I always looked at M.A.C Diva as more of an autumn-wintery shade and that it would look more festive and wine shadey kinda color. My First Impression: My mind: "Oh my my, it can be red, ok get your view right - its more blue-based red on you, not redddd...marooooon, maroon is a nice shade!"  My...

Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum Review

I have always liked a good Lotus product every now and then. Sometime during the start of winters I decided to include serums in my skincare routine, now a dry skin baby like me needs to think a couple of times before adding something new to my skincare routine so as to not further dry my skin and that too in winters. I started using the  Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum from December last year and I was using it on alternate days and night, as I do not believe using something new regularly just to see how my skin is reacting in the first few days. I picked this product from the Nykaa winter sale and managed to get a good discount as well. The MRP is INR 545 for 30ml and usually you do end up getting discount of 20-25% on Nykaa. Though, it is not a super pricey product, discounts always help while purchasing a "never tried before" product. I was waiting to use it for a month or so, before I could share my two cents on it. Now abou...

VLCC Pista Massage Cream Review

For good number of years, I have been using the facial kits by VLCC, it is a good last minute self-facial treat and does the job of putting up a sublime glow to your face without spending an hour or two at the salon. I thought to give this product   a try , as I was looking for a massage cream, which I can include in my weekend pamper sessions. I did not want a high-end brand or an expensive product because sometimes I just like a simple scrub, face wash, face pack combination of pamper sesh' for my face and thats it! About the packaging and price It is a 50g massage cream which retails for Rs. 260/-. It is not a new product by VLCC and has been in the market for a while. It comes in a plastic jar and is well sealed. In terms of packaging it is nothing fancy and it has a plastic covering with all the details of the ingredients, price, expiry date and method of usage.  About the product and usage The cream is green in color and has a slightl...
