What a place, I must say!

Travelling to Pondicherry was a sudden plan around Christmas time last year and truly a trip that touched my mind, body and soul. Some places are like that, you do not hear a lot of people talk about it but thats' exactly where the hidden gems lie.

My husband and I packed our suitcase and flew to Pondicherry hoping for a few days of calm and quiet right before the Christmas hustle bustle and yes thats what we beautifully experienced there.

We stayed at this hotel which by all means had great love for wide open spaces and greenery all around. The trip started with the first day relaxing at our hotel which gave us a great introduction of how serene the whole place would be, the crisp countryside kinda air, picturesque French goodness and the delectable Pondy cuisine.

Our first stop on our day tour to the main city the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, the calm and quiet one feels here is indescribable. Everything from entering barefoot to the Ashram and the sharp scent of Lotus all around makes one wonder how simplicity can quiver ones' soul. Next we were at the Promenade Beach - 3 things here, the sea, the rocks and tall standing statue of Gandhi - you find visitors flocking to this place almost all day. With almost everything around from spirituality to natural beauty to must-visit restaurants, there also nestles a historical building - The French Embassy Pondicherry - this is one of the many yellow-white buildings - certainly an eye-catching piece of architecture. Food here is a fusion of French conception d'aliments and South Indian warmth.

Auroville was the next stop - The Matrimandir, It is not just a golden metallic sphere you get to witness here but getting there is quite interesting, walking amidst trees and plants which your normally do not see grow around you. The information center gives you ample data of what you are going to experience at this place, the anticipation created by the long walk to reach the Matrimandir is clever, given the joy one experiences once you see the dome like structure standing tall and shiny in the afternoon sun.

A lil' about the restaurants, we enjoyed the food specifically at two restaurants Villa Shanti - which was a perfect blend of South Indian food with a tadka of French presentation and your mind going "delicieux" and Le Dupleix which not only offered mouth watering food but the ambiance how they skilfully converted the mansion of the French Governor Dupleix to a Bistro.

Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum Review

I have always liked a good Lotus product every now and then. Sometime during the start of winters I decided to include serums in my skincare routine, now a dry skin baby like me needs to think a couple of times before adding something new to my skincare routine so as to not further dry my skin and that too in winters. I started using the  Lotus Professional Phyto-Rx Whitening & Brightening Serum from December last year and I was using it on alternate days and night, as I do not believe using something new regularly just to see how my skin is reacting in the first few days. I picked this product from the Nykaa winter sale and managed to get a good discount as well. The MRP is INR 545 for 30ml and usually you do end up getting discount of 20-25% on Nykaa. Though, it is not a super pricey product, discounts always help while purchasing a "never tried before" product. I was waiting to use it for a month or so, before I could share my two cents on it. Now abou...

Makeup Revolution - Death By Chocolate

Today I will be reviewing on the Makeup Revolution - Death By Chocolate palette. This palette is well known for it being a dupe for the Too Faced - Chocolate Bar palette; however, in a much inexpensive option. There have been many arguments of it being a dupe or it not being a dupe, while weighing the pros n cons of each of the product. If you ask me, which is the better one? I do not know the answer, because I am yet to take the plunge on the pricier one. Anyway, I am in complete awe of this product, be it the packaging, the pigmentation, the color shade, the variety of matte and shimmers and mostly importantly the way it smells - So So So Wonderful!  Shade Names: Left to right Top Row: White Light, Don't Let Go, Break Me Up, Consume Me, All is Lost Middle Row: Lick Me, Fool's Gold, One More Bar, Devour Me, Tear The Wrapper, Love You to Death Bottom Row: Pray for Me, Dipped, Tease Me, Set Me Free, Bring Down Angels Above, is my palette - y...

VLCC Pista Massage Cream Review

For good number of years, I have been using the facial kits by VLCC, it is a good last minute self-facial treat and does the job of putting up a sublime glow to your face without spending an hour or two at the salon. I thought to give this product   a try , as I was looking for a massage cream, which I can include in my weekend pamper sessions. I did not want a high-end brand or an expensive product because sometimes I just like a simple scrub, face wash, face pack combination of pamper sesh' for my face and thats it! About the packaging and price It is a 50g massage cream which retails for Rs. 260/-. It is not a new product by VLCC and has been in the market for a while. It comes in a plastic jar and is well sealed. In terms of packaging it is nothing fancy and it has a plastic covering with all the details of the ingredients, price, expiry date and method of usage.  About the product and usage The cream is green in color and has a slightl...
