On some days the only color that your lip loves is nude. Something a little bit more than your natural lip color.
It is also very difficult to know what shade of nude could compliment one's skin tone as what shade may look like a perfect nude for me could turn to be a brown or almost clear lip balm shade for you. The tone of one's skin and how pigmented the lips are, are the key factors to know before selecting a perfect nude lip shade for yourself... All of it being said here are my collection top nude lipstick recommendations for Indian skin tone.
Mac Lipstick - Twig
For me this is a perfect - your lips but better kinda shade. This shade has both pink and brown undertones which compliments Indian skin tones very well. It is a satin finish which means it is well pigmented but at the same time is creamy and comfortable on the lips. It is also very long lasting for an almost nude color.
Mac Lipstick - Matte Finish - Whirl
If creamy lipstick is not what you like and still want a nude lip with a bit of color bending more towards brown - then this is your shade. Mac undoubtedly has a huge collection even in the nudes department to choose from. Depending upon your complexion this lipstick could turn to be a perfect nude lip because of its matte finish, very fair skin tones might find this lipstick slightly brownish - very similar shades are Mac Honey Love and Mac Kinda Sexy which will give the same look of nude for light skin tones. Since, it is a matte finish it is super long lasting and perfect pick when you have no time for touch-ups.
L’Oreal Color Caresse by Color Riche Lipstick – Rose Taffeta
This is a light-weight no effort kinda nude lip look. It has pink undertones and is creamy in texture with complete opacity. For those of you who like a look where the lipstick is hydrating and has a balm like texture but at the same time just adds a bit of color - this one is for you. I do not recommend this lip shade for pigmented lips and for those who are looking for a lot of color. The swatch is almost applied 3-4 times in the above pic. Availability of this shade might be an issue and it is mostly available only online.
Nyx Black Label Lipstick - Diva
This lipstick shade is a blue based nude shade with pink undertones. This shade will compliment many skin tones and is an easy every day color and can be paired with smokey eye look. The only downside of this lipstick is that it tranfers very easily and is not long lasting and requires frequent application after any food or drink.
Faces Glam On Fantasize Lipstick
This
lipstick is from Faces Glam On collection which has been in the
market since 2015 now, it is one perfect shade of nude and will compliment many Indian skin tones. It is a very subtle natural shade with brown and pink undertones which give a perfect nude color for Indian complexion and lip color. It is comfortably creamy in texture; however, over application of this lipstick could lead to a little bleeding on non-exfoliated lips. It is not a super long lasting lipstick but is a perfect throw in color when you cannot make up your mind :)
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter - Almond Biscotti
This is one of the newest shades in the Revlon Lip Butter line. This shade is creamy with almost lip balmy texture but has a burst of color as the name says. This can easily be an everyday color with basic eye look. The simplest way to explain this color would be a close sister of Mac Twig in a sheer formula. It has more of brown undertones and is an easy, buttery formula.
Something Extra
Maybelline Colorsensational High Shine Lip Gloss – Mirrored Mauve
I know lip glosses are meant to give some color, some shine and that extra umph to your lips - but I can't help bragging about how perfect this shade is for a nude lip look. It is a perfect shade for a casual look with just eyeliner and mascara and you are good to go. Though it is a gloss, it is not sticky or does not have any unpleasant feel on the lips. It is creamy and well pigmented. Being a gloss it is not very long lasting but stays put for a good amount of time. Since, it is quite an old product by Maybelline - availability might be an issue - but most counters still do have this product.
Quick tip - Kindly do not show this post to a MAN as he may feel they are all the same - but ladies you know the difference🙈
